​RICHARD A. MITCHELL

Rick Mitchell practiced law with Sullivan & Gregg (originally Sullivan, Gregg & Horton) from 1982 until 2013.  His practice focuses on civil litigation, both for injured parties and for the defense.  He also does business litigation, estate planning and some corporate work.  Rick also specializes in mediation, being in the first class of attorneys trained for Superior Court Rule 170.



He graduated from Brown University in 1978 with honors.  After a brief career in trucking, he received his law degree from Seton Hall University in 1982.



Rick is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association, having served as a Governor to the State Bar in the early ‘90’s.  He has made presentations in continuing education programs in trial strategy, mediation and worker’s compensation as well as having taught paralegal studies for several years at Rivier College.



He has defended claims in personal injury, animal cruelty charges, timber trespass, logging injuries and motor vehicle accidents.  He has made successful recoveries for injured parties in personal injury litigation and in uninsured claims as well as having litigated insurance coverage issues.



Rick has argued cases before the New Hampshire Supreme Court and the Federal First Circuit Court of Appeals.

Rick lives in Candia.  He is married to Dr. Polyxeni Rounds and has three children.  He is active in his home town of Candia having served on the Planning Board, as Town Moderator and a Trustee of the Smyth Public Library.  A prodigious reader, he writes a monthly newsletter for the library and countless reviews of books.  He has also served on the boards of the Nashua YMCA, The Plus Company and Gateway Health Services.  As a coach of youth sports for 14 years Basketball, baseball and softball, he learned along other things that the a softball swing is very different from a baseball swing.
